Allergo
- Summer 05

By Laila Hassani

Refreshingly honest with an admission that this collection of songs was "DIY recordied with shabby equipment in Tom's living room",
Allergo should soon be rising as the cream of the British metalcore crop. Like Eden Maine or Devil Sold His Soul before them, they are setting forth and making ears bleed with ferocious, shredding riffs and screams that you just know kill live. And with such Saved By The Bell-influenced tracks like 'Zack Morris' and 'Kelly Kapowski' and Drowningman-esque titles like 'This Time...I Think I've Gone Too Far', you've just gotta love them. Though all in their teens, they possess the talent to make intoxicating, frenzied hardcore like so few British bands can actually do - and do well. Think a less screechy Johnny Truant or a more focused, tighter Hondo Maclean. And someone give these Perth boys a gig down in London, like, now.
