Allergo were a hardcore metal band from Perth, formed in late 2001. They wrote all their own
music and had branched out from smaller local venues as they have developed. They quoted The Dillinger Escape Plan and Converge amongst their influences. Described by Radio 1’s Gill Mills as “Mick Jagger fronting Machinehead” and by Radio 1’s Vic Galloway as giving “a mind-blowing performance”. Allergo played at T in the Park in 2004 and 2005

Tragically in July 2006 their drummer Graham
Motion drowned after falling from the Queens Bridge in Perth. Dundee Courier Article

The band felt they could not continue without Graham who along with the rest of the band had formed the band when they were all still at school at Perth High school. In the short time they were together they had made quite an impression on the music scene with positive Reviews for both their demo CDs and their live performances. Always putting the music and fun first they had a strong DIY ethic, recording/producing/marketing their much praised demos themselves in Toms living rooms on a digital 8 track.

"The fact that this band are unsigned comes as a surprise indeed, as Allergo

have so much to offer, both in the studio and by means of the hardcore/metal

grapevine, on stage as well. Hailed already by Terrorizer magazine, New
Noise and UK Metal Underground, it won't be long before the rest of the UK
hears about the Scottish underground scene's biggest secret."

of Allergo on www.live4metal.com

“Combining the visceral energy of Converge-core with a head-spinning chop-and-change Cult Of Luna vibe, Perth hopefuls Allergo distinguish themselves as a cut above many of their peers, despite the fact that the special 'something' lurking here is not yet fully formed. Touted in the Scottish press, this four piece shouldn't get cocky just yet, as they do have a way to go. But the impressive short-haired death metal spread evidenced on this EP is, nonetheless, an endearingly oddball piece of work, which will rightly garner them praise”.

Score 7.5/10 “Terrorizer” Aug 2005

“Allergo have sharp playing and infectious energy…frontman Matthew Evans’ ridiculous, fantastic writhe-dancing is a hypnotic sight -His stage presence raises Allergo a level above.”
